A new beginning unfolds at Manila F.A.M.E. International
Evolving, re-inventing, transforming. Manila F.A.M.E. International, the second longest-running trade platform for home and fashion lifestyle products in the Asia Pacific and the only Union des Foires Internationales (UFI) recognized trade fair in the Philippines, welcomes you to a new phase as it opens its doors as Asia’s Boutique Show.
An extensive study on Manila F.A.M.E. International by the Frost Miller Group of Maryland, U.S.A., proved that its strengths and differentiation lie in the creativity and ingenuity of its exhibitors’ products. It has been historically perceived by buyers as a design show, a place to see new trends and innovative material application. For the April edition, Manila F.A.M.E. International is now repositioned as Asia’s Boutique Show, welcoming all buyers that cater to today’s discerning customers. As a boutique show, this edition offers highly specialized products that put a premium on value for money, clearly distinguishing its products from the rest.
“At Manila F.A.M.E. [last October], we got good results from buyers from Europe,” shares Obra Cebuana’s General Manager, Edwin Rivera. Obra Cebuana is a manufacturer of rattan furniture that won the prestigious Katha Awards last October for Best Product Design.
“Manila F.A.M.E. International is where you can find a new twist to old designs. There is always something new that differentiates it from the rest of the world. This is also our way of introducing new products to the international market…” remarks Romeo Balderama, CEO of Sarilinlikha Novelties, a company that produces finely-crafted home furnishings using indigenous materials.
The trade event, a favorite sourcing destination of well-known brands such as Neiman Marcus, Jonathan Adler, Armani Casa, Ralph Lauren, Harrods, and Gucci among others, is led by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry.
“Through the years, Manila F.A.M.E. has never failed to give our buyers only the best that the Philippines can offer as we continuously seek new ways, new styles, and new approaches for a seamless buying experience. As we welcome our guests this April, we hope to inspire them with our expanded product offerings under 4 boutique shows: Home Living, FashioNation, BIO-Search, and ART:MNL,” said CITEM Deputy Executive Director and Manila F.A.M.E. Over-all Project Director, Thelma Dumpit-Murillo.
“We keep visiting Manila whenever Manila F.A.M.E. International is there because we like the originality; the designs are nice, there are new concepts and the standard is high. We come here for Christmas items and pottery. It is extraordinary all the time here,” enthuses a buyer from Belgium.
A first time visitor from India says, “…The handicraft [in the show] is good. The quality and design are nice.”
Likewise, a buyer from Australia had good words for the show saying, “We import from all over the world and the products you have here seem to be of better quality than all the other products we have seen. We are quite impressed with it.”
On its 51st edition, the show also features Japan as partner country to provide a viable link between Filipino exporters of nonfood products and Japanese buyers. Next to the United States, Japan is the second-largest market of the Philippines. With the Philippine-Japan trade agreement in place, Manila F.A.M.E. International aspires to lure more Japanese buyers into buying specialized merchandise from Filipino manufacturers right at Asia’s Boutique Show.
In its October 2009 edition, close to 2,000 buyers from Japan, Germany, Australia, France, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States, visited the show where 439 world-class companies exhibited.
Be part of Manila F.A.M.E. International’s evolution on April 22-25, 2010, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila and the Philippine Trade Training Center.
